The Indian Subcontinent checklist is based on the Oriental Bird Club list for the Oriental region. An appropriate subset of this list is used, based largely on the distribution and status data provided by Avibase and Birds of South Asia1. Note that this list is not official and may have some errors (although hopefully less than other published lists for this location!). If you notice any omissions or errors then please let us know.
