The list of Spanish birds used by BUBO Listing is derived from the website of the Sociedad Española de Ornitología. The official Lista de las Aves de España is dated 2005. The list contains species recorded in mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, and the Spanish colonies of Ceuta and Melilla in North Africa.
Note that species listed only for categories D and E of the Spanish list are not included in BUBO Listing.
Although English and latin names are currently shown as standard within BUBO Listing, the "Spanish" names (nombre castellano from the list) of each species are also included and can be viewed upon data entry by hovering the mouse over the English name. Moreover, these names are also listed below:
